Guide to Sedona

Places to Stay

Stay anywhere off the 525, I recommend coming in from Dry Creek road, if you’ve been in Sedona.  If you’re coming in from Phoenix just turn off the 89. The great thing is most everywhere on there gets pretty good reception.

Best Hikes:

Hiline Trail although it’s a heavy mountain bike trail

Mescal for a low key hike

Bear Mountain to really push yourself and get some great views

Best Dog Friendly spots:

All of Sedona!

But you MUST go to the dog park.

This is a dog park unlike any I’ve seen.  They bring a little splash pool for the dogs.  Have a lovely astro turf section. But the BEST is, they have a trail section of the dog park! Literally they built a dog park hiking trail specific for the pups!

Best Grocery Store:

Natural Grocer (Can’t top the prices)

I’ve never actually been to a Natural grocer before, but the prices were some of the best I’ve seen for a health food store.  Although the prices are phenomenal I can’t say I had the same amazing experience as I get out of walking the isles of whole foods.

Best Wifi:

Whole Foods

You can go into the bar section and work there and no one is going to hassle you to leave or buy a ton of items.  However do be respectful, if it’s really busy and you’re not buying anything then maybe buy something or go to the van until it quiets down.

Best Overall Work Space:

Indian Gardens

Everyone told me I had to go check out this place.  Honestly it didn’t disappoint. The ambience is everything you need to feel cozy and calm to get your work done.  Not to mention the sourdough bread is heavenly. Pick up a loaf or two.

Overall:

Sedona is a very special place for me.

I found so much of my soul in that red sand.

The magic within that area allowed me to heal.  It provided the energy my soul needed to work through the life events that had just taken place.

I know that I’ve just scratched the surface on my time in Sedona.  Leaving me almost to guarantee that I will be back there for even longer.

Although I have the ability to travel anywhere that my soul desires, there is no other place that captures me the way Sedona does.

I was quickly welcomed as a local, and everyone started to assume I was living in the city. I would jokingly respond with yeah, I am for this week.  Sitting at Whole Foods I was invited to events the locals would be hosting at their house.  I had never felt so welcomed into a city I didn’t live in. However I am also very into blending into the surroundings and following the locals, because I truly enjoy immersing myself into the culture.

Sedona is not for everyone.  But no matter who you are when you see one of those red mountains you can’t help but feel pure bliss.

When you go to Sedona I encourage you to keep an open mind.  You may not believe in the magnetic power of the vortex, or the healing woo woo powers.  Try to stay open and accepting of anything that comes your way while you’re in Sedona.
